Situated in the Southeast region of Iowa, Louisa County is a natural resource paradise. With more than 15,000 acres of parks and natural areas including the confluence of the Iowa and Cedar rivers and bordered by the Mississippi River. Louisa county is home to a National wildlife refuge and is a place to enjoy hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, and paddling.

With a total population of 11.000, our 9 small communities are filled with a diverse population bringing together Hispanic, Asian, Welsh and other cultures. Louisa County takes pride in its safe and welcoming communities and intimate school districts but is still just a short drive from larger metropolitan areas.
